British actor Kit Harington has stirred up hope in Game of Thrones fans by appearing in public still sporting the trademark hair style and beard belonging to popular and believed-dead character Jon Snow.Â
Snow was apparently killed off in the season five finale by a gang of conspirators from his own Night's Watch causing heartache among fans of the show and speculation about the true fate of the character.Â
Harington had previously said that while working on HBO's Game of Thrones he was under contractual obligation to never cut his hair as long as he was on the show.

The contract was supposedly so strict that when filming Testament of Youth, in which his character is meant to have short hair, Harington was forced to wear a wig in order to keep his luscious locks intact.Â

He had also been quoted by Rolling Stone saying that his plans after the show didn't include keeping his long locks.
"I told my agent, 'No more swords, no more horses,'" he said. "You [don't want to] get stuck in things. And maybe I can cut my f***ing hair."
In an interview with Variety, director David Nutter insisted Jon Snow's death wasn't a trick.
"I can say emphatically that Jon Snow is definitely dead," he said.
However a recent appearance by the actor at Wimbledon has only served to fuel speculation that we haven't quite seen the last of Jon Snow yet.Â
Fans wonder, if Jon Snow is really dead, then why hasn't Harington cut his hair?Â
We don't know about Jon Snow, but for now it seems the mystery surrounding his death and his longs locks are very much alive.Â
