There was a touching moment at Comic-Con 2015 in support of Supernatural's Jared Padalecki.

Earlier this year, the actor revealed his fight with depression.

During his panel appearance, the audience began holding up small tea lights in support of his campaign, Always Keep Fighting.

Looking clearly moved, the actor said: "This is so touching and humbling. I don't have the proper words to say thank you."

It happened about halfway through the Comic-Con event, with people in the audience raising the candles.

They'd been given them before the press conference along with a card which said: "Show the people who inspire us, and the community we've built, what we can accomplish together."

In footage, Padalecki looked a bit bemused as he tried to work out what had happened, but then became visibly overwhelmed when he realised it was in support of him.

In a Facebook post later than evening, Padalecki said: "I initially mistook all of the lights for cell phone cameras. It's difficult to discern specific shapes and faces with all of those stage lights shining on you.

"Then, when I had a light given to me with an explanation of what it was and what it stood for, I was (and am still) gobsmacked. I will never forget this day. I will never forget the love that I felt, and still feel."

In March, he told Variety magazine that he was diagnosed with depression several years ago.

"I had dogs that I loved and tons of friends and I was getting adoration from fans and I was happy with my work, but I couldn't figure out what it was," he told the magazine.

"It's not just people who can't find a job, or can't fit in in society that struggle with depression sometimes."

Padalecki has been supporting the charity To Write Love On Her Arms which helps people struggling with depression, addiction , self-harm and suicide.

He was at Comic-Con to talk about the 11th series of his fantasy TV series.
