Confusion reigned Saturday over where controversial rapper Chief Keef would be holding his concert by hologram later this evening.
And the confusion apparently starts with the rapper himself.
Just before 6 p.m. Saturday, the rapperâs Twitter account announced the concert would be at Lincoln Hall, but that North Side venue already has listed another concert scheduled for 10 p.m. Saturday. And the official Twitter account of Lincoln Hall stated Saturday night that Keef was not appearing there.

Earlier in the day, on the rapperâs Instagram account, a photo was posted of what appeared to be a stage bearing the logo of HologramUSA being set up at the Pavilion at Wolf Lake in Hammond, Ind., with the announcement to âGet your tickets now.â HologramUSA is the Keef concert organizer.
That post, however, was soon taken down.

Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott confirmed the venue had been rented out for the night but said he had been assured by the concert promoter that the event will not involve Chief Keef, a statement echoed by a Hammond police lieutenant monitoring the situation.
âIf he appears on the stage [by hologram], the police will shut this down,â Hammond Police Lt. Patrick Vicari said.
Devon Bonaparte, the promoter of the Hammond concert, called Craze Fest, told the Sun-Times that Chief Keef is not appearing in any fashion at the Hammond event.
The event will have a special surprise guest, but it is not Chief Keef, Bonaparte said.
Keefâs manager, Renaldo Hess, declined Saturday night to say where the hologram would appear but said he was looking forward to it.
The Keef concert was set up as a fundraiser for and in memory of a rapper friend of Keefâs slain in gun violence recently as well as a toddler who died in the aftermath.
HologramUSA had announced last week that the event would be at the Redmoon Theater, but that event was cancelled. A City of Chicago spokesperson said the city called Redmoon and asked it not to hold the event because Keef is an unacceptable role model and promotes violence.
The Keef concert also drew tough criticism from the Rev. Michael Pfleger, who called upon the rapper to âSHUT UP!!!!!â in a Facebook post.
âChief Keef has announced that he will hold a benefit concert to raise funds for his friend and the Baby who were killedâ¦.REALLYâ¦Chief Keef is one of the reasons we have all this violenceâ¦he has been one of the encouragerâs of the Violence,â wrote the outspoken pastor who has taken to the pulpit and the streets to fight gun violence.â
Keef has to appear by hologram from California because there is a warrant out for his arrest in Illinois for allegedly not paying child support.
A spokesperson for HologramUSA could not be reached for comment Saturday.
