MIRANDA LAMBERT CRIES ON STAGE BEFORE BLAKE SHELTON SPLIT
Shelton, 39, allegedly thought that his superstar spouse had cheated on him with country singer Chris Young, who opened for Lambert on her On Fire tour in 2012.
But Young was not the reason that the âHoney Beeâ singer decided to call it quits with Lambert, TMZ reports.
Shelton reportedly learned that his wife had a dalliance with another man who is ânot a country singer.â
The impetus for the divorce filing came after he âreceived certain informationâ about Lambert and the unidentified man âthat elevated things in (his) head from rumor to fact.â
The fact that Shelton is the one who reportedly ended their marriage due to infidelity comes as a surprise, since the couple have been dogged for years by rumors that their relationship was on the rocks due to his drinking and flirting habits.
The two even took to Twitter last year to laugh off split rumors, with Shelton quipping, "Me and @mirandalambert are reading about our separation."
But the rumors became fact when Shelton and Lambert announced Monday in a joint statement that they had divorced after four years of marriage.

âThis is not the future we envisioned,â they said in the statement.
While Shelton was spotted wearing his wedding ring at a NASCAR race in New Hampshire one day prior to the announcement, Lambert had revealed the cracks in their relationship during a concert appearance Saturday.
The country songstress broke into tears while performing âThe House That Built Meâ during the Cheyenne Frontier Days Festival.
As for how Lambert is faring since the split, the 31-year-old singer is âsad and trying to process everything,â a source told People.
âSheâs doing the best she can and taking it day by day,â the source added.
