While Arkham Asylum guards and Gotham City Police officers patrol the streets â" the militarized law enforcement being a familiar presence in Ayerâs films â" Deadshot coins the teamâs name based on their tasks: âthe Suicide Squadâ.
Hall H was a frenzy on Saturday, and Super Hero Hype was there to experience the whole thing.
The director showed a sizzle reel for the forthcoming blockbuster, which is filming now.
Among the highlights during the panel, which clocks in at just over 20 minutes, were Gal Gadot talking about showing a stronger side of women as Wonder Woman, as well as the awesomeness of seeing Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter on a panel in Hall H. We see Harley Quinn in a Hannibal Lecter-style cage in the center of a large room, hanging upside down on a trapeze swing. Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Amy Adams, and Laurence Fishburne will also star in the movie. The new trailer for Batman V Superman was intense but the Suicide Squad footage from the trailer we saw there was even cooler. It looks like itâs going to be a fun movie for kids who may only know the familiar Peter Pan story.
Jackman also marveled over the massive practical sets Wright built to represent Neverland. The fact that Suicide Squad is filming for another month and they had so much to show was quite impressive.
Ayer, who is in the middle of shooting the movie in Toronto, made it a priority to fly to the convention with his cast.
Jared Leto, who plays the Joker, was not in attendance.
Harley Quinn gets a great into shot in full costume and makeup, then a kinda sicko close-up, licking the bars of a jail cell.
âIt opens with Viola Davisâ Amanda Wallerâ¦â From his brief appearances, I can say that itâs different from every other live-action incarnation weâve encountered. Jokerâs laugh! âIâm not gonna kill ya!â Can she control them? For most of us, this is the first time we have ever seen these DC characters come to life.
Weâre sure it wonât be up for long.
